Create eye-catching slow-motion effects in 4K 3D or 2D VR video using the Kandao Obsidian S Professional 3D 360° VR Camera. The compact Obsidian S features PoE and LP-E6 power options for capturing all your adventures and experiences for stereoscopic panoramic display. Immersive 3D views can be recorded at rates up to 6K50 or 4K120 at 60 or 100 Mb/s, and can be live streamed at 4K with an optional Kandao Live license (available separately).
Each of the Obsidian's six 190° lenses records to an individual microSD card while six microphones capture PCM-format audio. The audio input jack can be used to sync with a Zoom H2N recorder. Recording options include time-lapse functions, log mode, and DNG-format still capture. Imaging features include a 12MP back-illuminated CMOS sensor, 10 stops of dynamic range in video (12 in still), and a 100–3200 ISO range with manual control via the Kandao app.
GigE connectivity enables you to transfer files, provide power (PoE), and preview your footage using the Obsidian S's Ethernet port. Connect the camera to an optional Wi-Fi router for image preview and remote control, or use the downloadable Kandao app for Bluetooth smart device control. In default mode, the exposure of each lens is individually calculated with white balance based on the master lens. The app's playback function enables high-res VR viewing on standard display devices.
In addition to PoE, the camera can be powered using 12 VAC power or by two Canon LP-E6 batteries (available separately). A protective carrying case, a Zoom sync cable, an Ethernet cable, and a shoulder strap are also included with the Obsidian S camera.

Each of the Obsidian Pro 195° lenses records video output to the included high-speed 8-in-1 SSD module that comes with eight internal 512GB SSDs totaling 4TB. Or it can output video using the USB Type-C output to an external drive. It features 3.5mm audio input for embedding into your video and an HDMI type A output for up to 8K30 high-definition monitoring. The sensor array features a 9-axis gyroscope and a built-in GPS to keep your footage level and steady. Recording options include time-lapse functions, log mode, and DNG-format still capture, and you can record the files using 12-bit KDraw, 10-bit ProRes 422 HQ, or 8-/10-bit H.265 codecs. It also features Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5, and Gigabit Ethernet connectivity to provide control, preview, and file transfer options using the downloadable Kandao app.
The camera is powered using the included 12 VAC power adapter or by using an optional V-mount battery. It can be mounted on a tripod or rig using the multiple 1/4"-20 or 3/8"-16 threads on its base. A hard-shell carry case, two antennas, lens covers for all eight lenses, an Ethernet cable, and a lens cleaning cloth are also included with the Obsidian Pro camera.
